Double R Racing have confirmed 15-year-old Louis Foster as their first driver for the 2019 British Formula 4 championship.
With nine victories, Foster put forward an impressive display in taking second overall in the Ginetta Junior championship in 2018, on top of taking the rookie crown.
“We were super impressed with his performances in Ginetta Junior last year,” said team boss Anthony Hieatt. “He’s going to be an incredibly competitive driver in his first season in British F4 with us.”
The chance to move to a team that took it’s first title with Kiern Jewiss last season was too good of an opportunity for Foster to pass up. “The team are proven winners and have all the capability of delivering a championship winning car,” he said.
“Seeing how successful they were last season in F4 and in F3, it fills me with a lot of confidence as I make my debut in single-seaters.”
The three-car-team provide the ideal platform for his transition to single seaters. “Making the step from Ginettas to F4 is going to be a tricky one,” the Hampshire based racer said. “I’m confident in my abilities and with the expert guidance of the Double R team there’s no reason we can’t be fighting at the front this season.”
